Behold the mighty Nissequogue
in sun, in rain,
or in the fog
See it by kayak
or canoe,
a special place
for me and you
Snapping turtles
do abound,
along the banks they
can be found
Muskrat, otter,
geese, and deer
many critters still
live here
Always travel with the tide,
and you’ll have
a better ride
Around high
tide’s the time to go,
be somewhere
else when tide is low
Avoid low tide,
I tell you Bud,
or you’ll get
stuck in Nissey mud
Beware the docks
at river’s end
be sure to land
upon the sand
The Nissey is
a great delight
but you gotta do
her right !
